Scientist, artist, adventurer, and compassionate healer—Dr. Julia Snyder brings each of these qualities to her work at Mountaineer Dental & Sleep Center. With a deep appreciation for both science and the arts, she found her calling in dentistry, a profession where precision, creativity, and personal connection come together to restore health, function, and confidence.

Today, Dr. Snyder provides comprehensive dental care with a strong emphasis on prevention, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and dental sleep medicine. As a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine, she has advanced training in treating obstructive sleep apnea and sleep-related breathing disorders with oral appliance therapy. She particularly enjoys helping patients restore not only the health and function of their smiles, but also the confidence that comes from looking and feeling their best.

Dr. Snyder's artistic eye and understanding of facial anatomy have naturally shaped her approach to cosmetic dentistry and facial esthetics. She believes the most beautiful results are thoughtful, balanced, and uniquely suited to the individual—whether she is restoring a smile, improving facial harmony, or helping a patient feel more comfortable and confident.

That philosophy ultimately inspired her to found Brio Esthetics & Wellness, a sister practice to Mountaineer Dental & Sleep Center. Brio expands Dr. Snyder's vision of comprehensive care beyond the smile, offering advanced, non-surgical esthetic and wellness treatments designed to support confidence, vitality, and whole-body well-being. Together, the two practices reflect her belief that oral health, overall wellness, and self-confidence are deeply connected.

A native of Monroe, North Carolina, Dr. Snyder earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at Carolina, she conducted heart disease research in the Nobel Prize-winning laboratory of Dr. Oliver Smithies. After graduation, she continued her research in hematology at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute at the University of Michigan, where she co-authored work published in Blood, a leading medical journal.

Although research strengthened her attention to detail and scientific discipline, Dr. Snyder wanted the opportunity to form meaningful, lasting relationships with patients. She returned to UNC and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Honors and Distinction from the UNC Adams School of Dentistry.

Service has remained an important part of Dr. Snyder's professional life. She has volunteered through local and statewide dental outreach programs and has provided dental care and oral health education in Nepal, India, Bolivia, Guatemala, Fiji, and the Amazon jungle.

Outside the office, Dr. Snyder enjoys life with her husband and their Paso Fino horses, rescue dog, and two rescue cats. She loves horseback riding through the mountains of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia, as well as cooking, traveling, reading, and spending time with her family.

Dr. Lindsey Lazarchick enjoys getting to know her patients and nurturing those relationships to best serve her community. She is committed to perfecting her skills and expanding her knowledge to always provide the best and latest solutions.

She passionately delivers personalized care with leading-edge technology for a comfortable and patient-centered experience.

She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in biology and minor in psychology. After school, she worked as an EMT at an urgent care center then at a non-profit for adults with intellectual and development disabilities. She continued her education towards dentistry earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. The passion and skills she’s learned every step of her journey have grown her into a compassionate provider who loves to serve her patients.

Dr. Lazarchick grew up in Mobile, AL but is proud to call the high country of North Carolina her home. She loves spending time with her husband, David, their dogs, Lodi and Kona, and their chickens. Her other interests include baking, playing with her pups, and exploring the beautiful mountains of Boone.

Dr. Maria Muniz, DDS, joined our practice in September 2024 after relocating from New York, bringing with her eight years of dedicated experience in the field of dentistry.

Dr. Muniz is especially passionate about extractions, root canals, and Invisalign cases.

Dr. Muniz earned her dental degree from NYU’s School of Dentistry in 2015 and went on to complete her residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she further refined her clinical skills and patient care approach.

Outside the office, she loves traveling, enjoying great food, and spending time with her beloved dog, Toby. Her blend of expertise, compassion, and enthusiasm makes her a valuable asset to our dental team.

Dr. Nord earned her Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Science from the University of Mississippi — Ole Miss, as she fondly remembers it — and her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry. Dr. Nord is committed to sharpening her skills to better serve her patients. She stays up to date with the latest treatment techniques and has pursued extensive courses in dental implants, esthetics and cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign and other advanced procedures — ensuring her patients receive high-quality, predictable results.

Originally from Vietnam, Dr. Nord has lived in 6 of the 12 Southeastern states. Outside of the office spending time with her husband, friends & family, eatinggreat food, cooking, reading and traveling. She is thrilled to be a part of the Boone and North Carolina High Country community.
